Do The “SALT PUSH


Celtic_salt_IF YOU FEEL DISCONNECTED, foggy, tired or just plain crappy…do a “Salt Push“. Use unrefined salt (Celtic Salt or Pink Himalayan Salt). I like Celtic better.

Add 1/2 teaspoon of unrefined salt to 8 ounces of purified water (NOT TAP!). Stir and dissolve.  Just drink it down. (It won’t make your blood pressure rise… that’s regular salt.) Follow the 8 Ounces of salt water with 12 ounces of purified water. Wait for 30 minutes. During that time you should need to urinate and that is what helps push out the toxins, flushing your kidneys and your liver to properly enable filtering of more toxins. This is a process.


If you have not urinated within 30 minutes then do another “Salt Push” and wait 30 more minutes. Usually by the 2nd salt push things get moving. You should notice that once you clear all that toxic sludge out of your liver and kidneys by urinating, you will feel better usually within a minute or two, because your filtration system is working again. If your reaction is to severe then you need to scale back your dosage to manage the detox reaction.

You can max out and have as your goal a daily dose of up to 50 Milligrams of Iodine. It takes on average 6 months to a year of daily dosage to get your body back to it’s needed levels of Iodine in which most people are severely deficient.  After reaching that level it’s maintained at whatever you feel comfortable doing. You will feel your body reacting to the Herxheimer Reaction to the toxins. Having proper levels of Iodine and Selenium daily keep the process flowing smoothly, aiding your Thyroid which controls many different functions in your body including weight gain, metabolism, adrenals, inflammation…and many other areas of regulation in the body system.

Dori PLanting Strawberries at nightDori has gone from daily medications of “Anti-inflammatory” (Etodolac), “Malaria Medication” (Hydroxy-\Chloroquine) and deluges of Steroids (Prednisone) to get a “flare of  inflammation” under control…to an immediate removal of Steroids from the first time Iodine was ingested. Dori literally had a reaction (Herxheimer’s?) to the Steroids in her system, that flushed her cheeks and face red. Usually you back off steroids slowly but this was an immediate and positive change in the health of her body regarding “flaring rheumatoid symptoms”. When the flare goes down the pain goes away. Iodine makes the flare go down, along with the other supplements mentioned above.


Since then in a matter of 6 to 8 weeks, not only was Dori feeling better and having more energy and strength but she was also not having flares after normal “triggers” of “too much work in one day”, or “too stressed out”. Normally a flare would set in and she would be down for a few days to weeks or longer.  But having removed gluten from her diet as well and working towards a more vegan diet (devoid of animal by products including, dairy and meat) which keeps fat content low in her system she has created a much more healthy environment of food including food we grow ourselves as mini farmers. We are all eating this way now. Cheese is a delicacy not a main course. (Everyone loves cheese and we have it rarely…it can be done).


This removal of gluten coupled with all the supplements that go along with Iodine Supplementation has created an environment so healthy and energized in Dori’s body that she has gotten off of the Etodolac and the Malaria Medication (HydroxyChloroquine) completely and steroids are becoming a distant memory. She goes back for a doctor visit soon to see her “rheumatoid specialist”. She will be sharing what she has been doing and her results as well the as the results of other family members.


There is a much deeper history here about the nature of “auto-immune” diseases, as being caused by a “protozoal” infection. Something like a combo between fungal, viral, and bacterial that seems to elude the immune system while under certain treatments, such as eliminating fat from animal by-products, which apparently creates a perfect environment for this strange Malaria-like bug.


Fats are consumed in large quantities and then the infection grows faster causing a flare of the “protozoa” which in the case of rheumatoids manifest in the joints causing pain and inflammation to the point of needing serious drugs to mask the protozoa or trick the immune system into not attacking the rheumatoid’s own body in the joints. The Malaria Medication and Steroids are what suppresses the immune system for the purpose of stopping the symptom caused by the “protozoal” infection.  So if we got rid of what makes the protozoa happy and multiplying in the body then we can deal with the problem instead of masking the symptoms of pain and inflammation.


This current supplementation being done with diet modification of “gluten-free” has enabled to Dori to kick these body controlling pharmaceuticals completely to the curb. We see all those around us having good results with these direct actions of adjusting what they input for nutrition and what they try to detoxify from the body.

Iodine was discovered by French chemist Bernard Courtois in 1811.[22][23] He was born to a manufacturer of saltpeter (a vital part of gunpowder). At the time of the Napoleonic Wars, France was at war and saltpeter was in great demand. Saltpeter produced from French niter beds required sodium carbonate, which could be isolated from seaweed collected on the coasts of Normandy and Brittany. To isolate the sodium carbonate, seaweed was burned and the ash washed with water. The remaining waste was destroyed by adding sulfuric acid. Courtois once added excessive sulfuric acid and a cloud of purple vapor rose. He noted that the vapor crystallized on cold surfaces, making dark crystals. Courtois suspected that this was a new element but lacked funding to pursue it further.


Courtois gave samples to his friends, Charles Bernard Desormes (1777–1862) and Nicolas Clément (1779–1841), to continue research. He also gave some of the substance to chemist Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac (1778–1850), and to physicist André-Marie Ampère (1775–1836). On 29 November 1813, Desormes and Clément made public Courtois’s discovery. They described the substance to a meeting of the Imperial Institute of France.[24] On December 6, Gay-Lussac announced that the new substance was either an element or a compound of oxygen.[25][26][27] It was Gay-Lussac who suggested the name “iode”, from the Greek word ιώδες (iodes) for violet (because of the color of iodine vapor).[22][25] Ampère had given some of his sample to English chemist Humphry Davy (1778–1829). Davy did some experiments on the substance and noted its similarity to chlorine.[28] Davy sent a letter dated December 10 to the Royal Society of London stating that he had identified a new element.[29] Arguments erupted between Davy and Gay-Lussac over who identified iodine first, but both scientists acknowledged Courtois as the first to isolate the element.

Iodine is an essential trace element for life, the heaviest element commonly needed by living organisms, and the second-heaviest known to be used by any form of life (only tungsten, a component of a few bacterial enzymes, has a higher atomic number and atomic weight).


Iodine’s main role in animal biology is as a constituent of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These are made from addition condensation products of the amino acid tyrosine, and are stored prior to release in an iodine-containing protein called thyroglobulin. T4 and T3 contain four and three atoms of iodine per molecule, respectively. The thyroid gland actively absorbs iodide from the blood to make and release these hormones into the blood, actions that are regulated by a second hormone TSH from the pituitary. Thyroid hormones are phylogenetically very old molecules that are synthesized by most multicellular organisms, and that even have some effect on unicellular organisms.


Thyroid hormones play a basic role in biology, acting on gene transcription to regulate the basal metabolic rate.[citation needed] Total deficiency of thyroid hormones can reduce basal metabolic rate up to 50%. Excessive production of thyroid hormones can increase the basal metabolic rate by 100%.[citation needed] T4 acts largely as a precursor to T3, which is (with minor exceptions) the biologically active hormone. In amphibian metamorphosis iodine and thyroid hormones exert a well-studied experimental model of apoptosis on the cells of gills, tail, and fins of tadpoles.[38]


Iodine has a nutritional relationship with selenium. A family of selenium-dependent enzymes called deiodinases converts T4 to T3 (the active hormone) by removing an iodine atom from the outer tyrosine ring. These enzymes also convert T4 to reverse T3 (rT3) by removing an inner ring iodine atom, and convert T3 to 3,3′-diiodothyronine (T2) also by removing an inner ring atom. Both of the latter are inactivated hormones that are ready for disposal and have, in essence, no biological effects. A family of non-selenium-dependent enzymes then further deiodinates the products of these reactions.


Iodine accounts for 65% of the molecular weight of T4 and 59% of the T3. Fifteen to 20 mg of iodine is concentrated in thyroid tissue and hormones, but 70% of the body’s iodine is distributed in other tissues, including mammary glands, eyes, gastric mucosa, fetal thymus, cerebro-spinal fluid and coroid plexus, arterial walls, the cervix, and salivary glands. In the cells of these tissues, iodide enters directly by sodium-iodide symporter (NIS). Its role in mammary tissue is related to fetal and neonatal development, but its role in the other tissues is partially unknown.[39]
